We offer a comprehensive range of cold foil and high-end replicated foil series designed to meet the diverse needs of tobacco and alcohol packaging, premium gift boxes, brand labels, and commercial printing.
Hongye Factory is a professional manufacturer and supplier of Metallic Digital Foil. This product is specifically developed for the digital printing. It differs from traditional hot stamping and silk-screen cold stamping products. It does not require plate making or the production of metal plates and rollers. It can directly be used in conjunction with digital printing equipment to achieve a metallic texture coating.
Hongye Supplier manufactures this Metallic Digital Foil. It achieves the mirror-like metallic effect through heat transfer and covers various popular metallic colors such as rose gold, bright gold, and light gold. It is suitable for digital inkjet printing substrates.
Solved pain points
It addresses the industry pain point of traditional hot stamping, which requires plate making and has high costs for small batch orders. It can not only handle scattered proofing but also undertake medium and small batch customized orders, providing a feasible solution for short orders, multiple versions, and rapid delivery packaging and label projects.

Manufacturing process
1. Base material selection
Select a dedicated PET base film suitable for digital heat transfer printing. Conduct pre-tests on the flatness and heat shrinkage rate of the film surface to avoid wrinkling and misalignment during subsequent hot stamping.
2. Release layer coating
Uniformly coat the PET surface with a special release coating. Control the thickness of the coating to ensure that the metal layer can be completely peeled off after heating without any local foil detachment.
3. Vacuum metal coating
Vapor deposit the metal layer in a high vacuum environment, controlling the coating thickness and balancing the mirror-like gloss and flexibility to prevent the coating from cracking after hot stamping.
4. Functional adhesive layer coating
Customize a heat-melt adhesive layer suitable for digital ink powder. Conduct compatibility adjustments for different brand digital machine ink powder formulations to enhance the adhesion after hot stamping.
5. Aging and standing still
After coating, let it age in a constant temperature environment to release the internal stress of the film material, reducing the risks of edge curling and adhesion during use.
6. Cutting and quality control
Cut according to customer requirements for the corresponding width. Conduct appearance inspections on each roll, verifying the gloss, winding tension, and end face straightness. Then pack and ship out.
Maintenance
1. Storage environment: Store in a cool and dry room, avoiding direct sunlight and heat sources. The environmental temperature and humidity should be stable. Do not stack heavy objects to prevent the film rolls from being deformed due to pressure.
2. Storage of film rolls: For unused film rolls, ensure they are sealed and protected. The ends should be dust-proof. Do not place them bare and avoid exposure to moisture, as it may cause interlayer adhesion.
3. Expiry control: It is recommended to use up the product within 12 months after receiving it. If stored for too long, the performance of the glue layer will decline, affecting the adhesion of the heat transfer.
Operating Instructions
When handling the Metallic Digital Foil, handle it with care to avoid any bumps or impacts that could damage the surface. Such damage would directly cause the foil to break during the machine operation, and the entire roll would be unusable.
FAQ
1. Q: Can Metallic Digital Foil be heat-pressed on inkjet-printed paper?
A: It is mainly suitable for inkjet digital printing. Inkjet paper needs to be evaluated on the machine in advance.
2. Q: Can Hongye provide samples of different color digital heat-pressing films?
A: Multiple-color samples can be provided for customers to verify on the machine on-site.
3. Q: Why does the heat-pressing sometimes not stick well on the same roll of film?
A: This is mostly related to inkjet drying and equipment temperature fluctuations. First, check the equipment parameters.
4. Q: Can the digital metal heat-pressing be followed by a matte film coating treatment?
A: Yes, compatibility tests need to be conducted in advance to avoid the stripping of the metal layer.
5. Q: After the film roll is opened, how long should it be used before it is finished?
A: It is recommended to use it as soon as possible after opening. Try to consume it within 2-3 months.
6. Q: Can custom digital metal heat-pressing films of unconventional widths be provided?
A: Customized width can be achieved through cutting. The minimum order quantity needs to be met.
7. Q: After placing an order, can product-related test data be provided?
A: For formal orders, corresponding batch compliance test documents can be provided.
